Weekly Recap: Forma Brands eyes bankruptcy, Jared Leto launches skincare line and more

Here’s your weekly recap: the most viewed stories on our site for the week ending October 22, 2022.

The biggest news last week was the report that Forma Brands, the parent company of Jaclyn Hill’s Morphe, Lipstick Queen and Jaclyn Cosmetics, may file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Sources blame the pandemic, which has caused a two-year decline in color cosmetics sales, supply chain issues, as well as the controversy surrounding the famed brands of Jeffree Star and James Charles.

In skincare news, Jared Leto has created a skincare brand. The new brand is called Twentynine Palms and an 11-piece range debuts on October 25.

Additionally, business mogul and investor Elon Musk launched a new fragrance last week. Burnt Hair, or “The Essence of Loathsome Desire”, as it’s called on The Boring Company’s website, is designed to capture the aroma of burnt hair – and it’s already sold out.
